NUBSUD HUMAN RIGHTS MONITORS ORGANIZATION (NHRMO)
NHRMO is an independent, democratic civil society organization founded in March 2012, in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan State, in Sudan. Later on, NHRMO extended to cover New Funj region in Blue Nile state, based out of the areas under the control of SPLM/A – N. Also, NHRMO covers the refugee camps in South Sudan and Ethiopia where people from Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile state fled because of the second war to take refuge there.
Raising awareness
Awareness is the first step towards change. We spread knowledge about human rights and societal issues, equipping our community with the information needed to inspire action and promote change.
Documenting and reporting
We shine a light on the truth. By meticulously documenting and reporting human rights violations, we expose injustices, bring attention to critical issues, and press for accountability.

How We Work
At NHRMO, we are dedicated to making a tangible impact on human rights in Sudan. Our work is guided by a holistic approach, encompassing several key facets:
Monitoring and Reporting
We diligently monitor and document human rights violations and atrocities in the Nuba Mountains region, Blue Nile state, refugee camps in South Sudan, and Ethiopia. Our thorough research, documentation, and reporting hold the perpetrators accountable and shed light on the injustices faced by the local communities.
Community Engagement
Through over 125 community mobilization events in the last seven years, we engage with the communities, fostering awareness on a wide range of human rights issues. These activities enable capacity building, awareness-raising, and local empowerment.
Advocacy and Outreach
Our strong advocacy campaigns strive to expose violations and push for legal actions against those responsible. Collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations, we amplify our voice to advocate for peace, good governance, and an end to the current war.
